In its latest Asian Development Outlook (ADO) 2018, the Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) has stated that India’s economic growth is set to rise to 7.3 percent in 2018-19 and grow at 7.6 percent further in FY20.

Rishad Premji, the chief strategy officer and board member of Wipro Ltd, was appointed as the new Chairman of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) for 2018-19. He succeeded Raman Roy. Rishad is the son of Wipro Chairman Azim Premji.

India and Timor Leste on April 11, 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of public health to extend affordable healthcare to the people of the Southeast Asian nation. The MoU was signed during Minister of state for social justice and empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar’s four-day visit to the nation.

Indian wrestling legend Sushil Kumar, who won the Commonwealth Championships, last December, displayed his top form as he took on South Africa’s Botha Johannes in the men’s freestyle 74 kg finals. The two-time Olympic medalist finished off the match in just little over a minute to bag the gold medal.

Indian shooter Tejaswini Sawant grabbed the silver medal in the women’s 50m Rifle Prone final on April 11. Her medal, however, opened India’s account in the wrestling competition of the Games.
