Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb launched the state component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) in Agartala. It is aimed at giving training to more than 116000 youths by 2020.

Chinese scientists have developed a novel method by mixing two chemicals that help generate stem cells which can self-renew or multiply while maintaining the potential to develop into other types of cells and be used to treat a wide range of ailments.

The West Bengal Government formed a committee for commemorating 100 years of Bengali cinema. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is the patron of the 18-member committee.
