The Union Ministry of Culture has appointed ML Srivastava as Protem Chairman of Lalit Kala Akademi. ML Srivastava is currently a Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture. He will hold the office till a full-time chairman is appointed by the Centre.

The E-way bill system was introduced from April 1, 2018 in India. The E-way bill is for the movement of goods between the states and it can be generated on the E-way bill Portal.

Vineet Joshi, a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Manipur cadre, was appointed as the Director-General of the National Testing Agency (NTA) for a period of 5 years. The NTA under the Department of Higher Education is an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation.

Nepal has launched its first accessible trekking trail in Pokhara city for the disabled and the elderly. The trail was inaugurated as a part of three-day international conference on Accessible Tourism held for the first time in the Himalayan nation from March 29 to March 31 in Pokhara.

India has replaced Vietnam to become the second-largest producer of mobile phones in the world, only after China. According to data shared by ICA, India accounted for 11 per cent of global mobile production in 2017 compared to 3 per cent in 2014.

The state government of West Bengal has introduced a new scheme called ‘Rupashree’ in order to provide marriage assistance to girls coming from economically weaker families with a budgetary allocation of Rs 1500 crore.

China’s out-of-control space station, Tiangong-1, is scheduled to re-enter Earth between March 31 and April 1. According to experts, most parts of the spaceship will burn up on re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere and hence, there is a very low risk of any part hitting a populated area.

The Tripura government has decided to set up a well-equipped crime branch under the state police to deal with unlawful activities in the state such as drug and narcotics peddling. The main aim behind the move is to restore normalcy in the society.

Zimbabwe Cricket has fired the captain of its cricket team, Graeme Cremer along with the entire coaching staff following the team’s shocking elimination during the ICC World Cup qualifier. The team lost their ICC World Cup qualifier by just three runs to the United Arab Emirates on March 22.
